Create a cross link to other items in a diagram

Tip: This article is about creating secondary cross-links to highlight connections. You can also link any items in the diagram using normal branches, see the connecting items guide for details.

If you need to create a dashed link to a different part of your diagram, here's what to do:

  1. Open up the context menu (right click or tap and hold an item).
  2. Hold [shift], the shape icon will be replaced by the cross-link icon.
  3. Drag the crosslink icon (see the image below).
  4. When the link is connected to the item you want, release the click!

To add a text label to the cross-link, click on the (...) icon which appears when you hover over the cross link, and then type your text.

Tip: The cross-link adds a Markdown link to your item, and the text on the cross-link is the title of the link.
